Dear Newspeople, please stop being so ridiculous.
It is not news every time the price of the barrel drops yet another dollar. Please stop treating every price like a benchmark - Oil drops below 37.29! oh my! It was news below fifty, it will be news below 30. 37.29 is not news. Further, can we just accept that the price of gasoline is a mystery to 98% of the population and move on?
Second, it's winter. Winter happens once a year. Headlines like "Montreal hasn't seen a cold snap like this iin over a year" is positively ridiculous. That's like announcing on the soulstice "Northern Hemisphere hasn't seen a day this short in a year." Please.
Finally, stop treating the opinions of the average person as important. Only morons with no lives participate in these forums and it is wholly depressing to be exposed to these comments. At least the "reader comments" section on The Globe and Mail can be ignored, but for the love of god why would you give air time to people text messaging the morning radio show.
A person who used to like the CBC.
